Cosmos Banter Privacy Policy

Controller and scope

Omnilude operates Cosmos Banter and handles privacy questions. The privacy contact is Jongmin Kim, representative, at omnilude@gmail.com.

This policy applies to the Cosmos Banter web service. External sites and separate Omnilude services have their own policies. It takes effect on August 13, 2026.

Information processed and how it is collected

When you access the service, a random visitor identifier, language, access time, IP address, browser and device type, request path, and error or security records may be generated through cookies, request headers, and server or infrastructure logs. Sign-in uses a shared Omnilude account identifier and authentication session.

Community and learning features may process votes and reactions, comments, follows and saves, deck enrollment, study progress and review results, card issue reports, post report reasons, and source snapshots used for moderation.

Theme, scene debugging, simulation speed, observation mode, and selected latitude and longitude are stored in browser localStorage. Current location is read only after browser permission and selected coordinates support observation and local settings. Address queries are sent through the server to Nominatim to find coordinate candidates.

Purposes

Information supports language, theme, and observation preferences; location-based sky rendering; stories and learning progress; sign-in; polls, comments, reports, follows, and saves; inquiries; and product quality.

It is also processed as needed for troubleshooting, security and abuse prevention, rights claims, operational statistics based on server logs and first-party interactions, and legal obligations. It is not processed for third-party behavioral analytics or targeted advertising.

External services, sharing, and international processing

Map providers may process requests in overseas data centers. Encrypted requests occur only when the map or address search is used; blocking them may limit only the related map feature.

OpenStreetMap

Map tile requests may disclose an IP address, browser information, and request time to map infrastructure when the observation map is shown.

Nominatim

An address query is sent to retrieve location candidates. The browser's precise current location is not automatically included in that search request.

Retention and deletion

Language, theme, observation coordinates, and simulation preferences in localStorage remain in that browser until you change them or clear site data.

Account, community, learning, inquiry, report, operational, and security records are retained only as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, then deleted so that recovery is impractical.

Cookie, location, and browser controls

The service uses only cookies and browser storage needed for language, authentication, guest state, theme, observation location, and simulation preferences. Because there are no optional analytics or advertising cookies, it does not display a cookie-consent prompt or store an allow-or-deny choice.

You may block or delete cookies and localStorage in your browser. Clearing site data may reset language, theme, observation location, simulation settings, and guest state.

You can deny or revoke location permission and still select coordinates manually for core exploration. Blocking map requests may limit only the map and address-search features.

Your rights, safeguards, and changes

Contact omnilude@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or withdrawal of consent. A legal representative may exercise rights under applicable law. Information that must be retained by law may be excluded from a request.

Omnilude applies reasonable safeguards including data minimization, access control, protected transmission, log review, and backup controls. A feature that must collect personal information from a child under 14 on the basis of consent will use the required legal-representative consent process.

Material policy changes will be announced through the service or another reasonable channel with their effective date.
