67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko is a Jupiter-family comet that circles the Sun about every 6.45 years. Its roughly 4 km, porous nucleus consists of two lobes joined by a narrow neck. From 2014 to 2016, Rosetta flew alongside the comet and tracked how solar heating sublimated ice to produce gas-and-dust jets, a coma, and tails. Philae’s landing and in situ measurements showed 67P to be both a record of material from the early Solar System and a geologically active small world whose surface and activity change on every passage around the Sun.
